Claremont Creek Ventures annual Cinco de Mayo party
What an open house it was! On Wednesday night May 4 Claremont Creek Ventures held our sixth annual Cinco De Mayo party at our offices in Oakland which we generally hold close to but not necessarily on May 5.
The specialty of the house were the strawberry margaritas, but many of the almost 300 people who attended also enjoyed the wine tasting managed by Anais Glavin as our sommelier. Wines were from southern Italy and Sicily including Orsalni, Marotti Campi, and Unti wines.
Portfolio company executives, entrepreneurs, limited partners, local politicians and the press mingled for more than four hours at the event which has become an annual tradition at CCV– a fete that first celebrated the formal opening of our offices in May 2006.
For those who may not be up on the history of Cinco de Mayo, it is not Mexico's Independence day—but it is observed in the United States to commemorate the cause of freedom and democracy during the first years of the American Civil War. But for us it is a good excuse for a party!
As always, we try to make the open house coincide with the “Friends of Oakland Park and Recreation” who host a charity auction and event and brings in outside entertainment. Wednesday night's music flowed throughout the halls of our office building which opens up to a beautiful Rotunda with curved ceilings.
Here are some of the pictures from the event…enjoy!
